Emergents TCG Has Built a Better Mousetrap for Trading Card Game Enthusiasts

Emergents TCG, a digital trading card game designed by InterPop, has released its public beta version. This much-anticipated launch will be commemorated through a special drop, featuring promo-card-packs known as ‘super boosters’.

In its current state, the TCG gaming industry lags behind when it comes to true ownership and the ability to trade digital collectibles. Players have no authentic ways to prove that they own a unique collection or trade the collectibles in secondary markets. Emergents TCG is designed to change this narrative, the cards in this game are tokenized through the Tezos blockchain, allowing owners to store or trade them as NFTs on Rarible.com or Objkt.com.

While Emergents TCG is based on the blockchain, the gameplay is quite simple, mimicking the likes of Magic and Pokemon. Players can engage in several activities such as exploring the Emergents universe ‘Interpop comics’ and card collection. Above all, this NFT card game is not based on any tokenomics model; anyone can seamlessly interact with the Emergents TCG ecosystem without prior crypto or blockchain knowledge.

According to InterPop’s CEO Brian David-Marshall, their main goal is to build a better trading card game than the free-to-play or NFT card games currently in the market. With the public beta now out, Emergents TCG is edging closer to this vision.

“We’ve challenged the status quo on resource systems that you see in a variety of different games on the market. We’re not just looking to be an awesome crypto game, or an awesome mobile or PC game. We’re looking to be an amazing trading card game.” added Emergents TCG Senior Game Designer Corey Burkhart.

As mentioned in the introduction, this launch will be accompanied by a special drop; the super booster card packs. These rare cards contain unique features such as exclusive variant art versions of the public beta cards, player avatars and NFT comic books. The most advanced pack ‘epic super booster’ will also include a 1st Minted edition of 1 super booster exclusive NFT card and 1 Scott Kolins Original Comic Art NFT that can be physically redeemed.

The pre-sale for these super booster card packs is scheduled for August 18th; on this date, whitelisted participants will have an opportunity to buy a card pack of their choice (super booster, rare super booster or the epic super booster). Meanwhile, the general sale will open on August 19th, after which anyone can purchase the super booster cards and immediately crack them open to start playing.
