IOTA EVM Achieves Perfect 100 in Zokyo Code Audit Ahead of June Launch

  • To ensure the new protocol’s security, the IOTA Foundation commissioned a comprehensive audit by the renowned security firm Zokyo, which awarded the IOTA EVM a perfect score of 100 points.
  • In preparation for the IOTA EVM launch, Safe has introduced a new MultiSignature Wallet.

The IOTA community is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of the IOTA Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) in June. To ensure the robustness and security of this new protocol, the IOTA Foundation engaged Zokyo, a renowned security auditing firm, to conduct a comprehensive audit of the IOTA Smart Contracts (ISC) in March 2024.

Zokyo’s audit focused on identifying potential security vulnerabilities, as well as evaluating the business logic and technical risks associated with the contracts. The results were exemplary, with the IOTA EVM achieving a perfect score of 100 points, per the Crypto News Flash report.

The audit process involved a meticulous examination to ensure that the IOTA Smart Contracts Protocol adheres to best practices in code readability, is safeguarded against recent vulnerabilities, and employs methods secure from reentrancy attacks. Additionally, Zokyo assessed whether the contracts effectively implement and comply with existing standards, and whether they follow best practices to prevent unnecessary inefficiencies.

This security audit represents one of the final and most crucial steps in the preparation for the IOTA EVM launch. Zokyo’s audit revealed no Critical, High, Medium, or Low issues within the IOTA EVM. The only findings were 11 “Informational” issues, primarily related to the visibility declarations of specific constants or variables. After the IOTA smart contracts team addressed these issues, the IOTA EVM achieved a flawless score of 100 points.

The successful completion of this audit not only highlights the security and reliability of the IOTA EVM but also marks a significant milestone in its journey towards a smooth and secure launch in June.
